Dealer Joe’s Low Sodium Tomato Soup is my go-to, store-bought soup, particularly throughout these colder months after I inventory it in my pantry. I additionally swapped in further lean floor turkey for the meat (only a style desire) and freshly chopped onion, pink pepper and celery as an alternative of the frozen model (simply because I had them available – in any other case, frozen veggies are an excellent staple to your freezer <— Dietitian’s Endorsement.)
And the dietitian in me threw in a can of pinto beans, too (one other RD tip: rinse canned beans effectively to eliminate as much as 40% of the sodium.) I bought the inspiration from fellow dietitian, Ellie Krieger, and her Sloppy Joe recipe. I mashed up half of the beans and combined them in on the finish.
